      Should Nicolae Paulescu be credited with discovering insulin / pancreine, or was he just and old fraud? Should anyone care?

      He was doing the same experiments as the alleged discoverers 4 or 5 years before they were. It’s all on record and I think he even registered a trademark / patent regarding it.

      He’s a hero!

      But no, no one should care as he’s long dead :)

      Yeah, maybe, but he didn’t come up with an actual clinical use – like what Banting et al came up with. Therefore he’s an old fraud ;-)

      The dog that lasted the longest in the early experimental days was called Marjorie and became a bit of a lab pet – until it died.
