At the risk of opening the floodgates to the ire of either a) Android owners or b) iPhobes I thought I’d mention that everyone’s second favourite diabetes charity, Diabetes UK have launched a shiny new app for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch which allows you to keep track of all sorts of D-related guff.
In short, parts of it are inspired, parts of it are not so good and there’s an unfortunate gaping hole (no data export for printing etc). 7/10. Anyone else had a look at it?
Thanks Mike, I’ve been working up the energy to write something about that but as an iPhobe (I’m so glad to finally know what my refusal to part with extortionate amounts of money for stuff with pictures of fruit on it is called) I’m struggling to get round to it. Now you’ve saved me the effort!
I think i’ll stick to my traditional pen & diary, I can’t imagine an Apple product will take to blood covered smeary fingers in the same way my diary does!
If anyone’s interested, according to DUK – when I spoke to them last week – they’re looking at developing an Android app next. Just in case anyone wanted to use this thread to kick off about the whole iPhone / Android thing. Which you probably didn’t – but prevention and cure and all that stuff.
I’m with @tim on that one. And at the risk of sounding very geeky indeed, I’m currently looking at how to get my own personal recording set up as an android app (for my own use, I wasnt planning on launching it in particular). Should I ever get it to work, I’ll let you know…
