      Hi guys & girls,

      I’m new to the forum – I’ve been reading the blog for a few months now and thought I would take the plunge & sign up. So here goes…

      I was diagnosed with T1 almost 3 years ago (my diabetes birthday is next week!) when I was 19. I am taking part in JDRF’s Type 1 Parliament Event next month – http://www.jdrf1campaign.org.uk/landing.asp?section=45&sectionTitle=About+the+1+Campaign+-+raising+awareness+of+type+1+diabetes

      Around 60 of us have invited our local MPs to lobby them for the need for additional funding into T1. I met with my local MP Francis Maude a few weeks ago to discuss the ;

      @laurenproctor – Hi Lauren – welcome to the despond and misery that is Shoot Up! :-)

      Sounds like you’re getting stuck into the diabetes campaigning – which is very cool! Do keep us informed of how it all goes and I daresay me or the other readers will have some input too.
