Hello Peter, I found the time I spent considering whether to use a pump or not more worrying than the actual doing it. I couldn’t imagine what I would do with a pump and tubing attached to me full time and the thought of constant insulin infusion frightened me especially with the risk of hypos.

In reality it was the best thing that has happened to my control. In 8 years of using a pump I have never managed to tie myself in any knots with the tubing whilst sleeping (getting the tubing caught around door and drawer handles is another matter!) and if it does worry you there are things you can do such as putting a small strip of micropore tape to anchor the tubing to your skin.
