@Lizz – The small amounts of insulin thing and red line on the insulin indicator does sound annoying. Could you fill up the vial and re-use it with a new set?
Probably not as you’d be using some quite old, unrefrigerated insulin after a week or so.

To be honest @lizz, 4 wasn’t the original plan. I was aiming for 5’s but kept ending up in the 4’s and found that it worked ok. As long as I have no active insulin on board and things are generally stable, I just […]

Interesting @Lizz. It’s something I know absolutely nothing about; but I can’t deny that my BG results are better when I’m relaxed. And we all know that stress doesn’t do you much good. I also suppose that if […]

Do you have the same problems with more modern human insulin eg Humalog/Novorapid/Apidra @lizz , or are they just as problematic as the Actrapid?
Do you think you’ll ultimately swap back to the animal […]

@lizz – so how are your fingers now? Have you made any progress in finding a cause of the problem (or, better still, a cure), or have you had to go back to animal insulin?

What volume of aspartame were the trial participants taking @Lizz? eg are we talking the equivalent of one diet coke a day or ten?
I don’t add artificial sweetener to anything, the only time I eat is when I […]

What do you use for sweetening stuff @lizz? Or do you just use sugar/go without? I tend to use sucralose or less sugar myself, but always keen to find better alternatives if there are any…

What a pain @Lizz. Sorry I don’t have any helpful suggestions, but I hope you manage to find some sort of compromise that’ll work for you.

I’m afraid the short answer is “No”, @lizz, but as someone who doesn’t get on with “human” and analogue insulins I can sympathise with the conflict between “better” control and side-effects that make the […]

@furrypaul I’ve always injected in my bum, plenty of space to aim at. Its one of my favourite spots for infusion sets too. You don’t know what you’re missing 😉
@lizz I go just above or just below the […]

@lizz I put my sensors into my side just above waistband height, almost into my back but not quite. They face outwards so that I’m not pressing them into my back when I lie down. I put my infusion sets in the […]

Hurrah, that’s excellent news @lizz and if they’re only funding for a year, I assume that means you’ll be cured by October 2013?
I always wear my pump and sensor on the same side like you. If I wear it in my […]
