The wonderful @Katie has made me another pump case – pictures and details over on Katie’s blog here – http://diary.stripykat.com

So bowed by the wondrousness of my case, what do you keep all your diabetic kit in?

Being the slovenly old gnome that I am, I tend to keep my test meter littered about my computer desk. My pens and needles are in a couple of plastic boxes perched on the rim of the shower tray, and my insulin stock takes up the dairy products drawer in the fridge. Why on the shower tray you ask? Because they’re handy for use when seated is why. I do have to move everything when I have a shower, but hey, nobody ever said life would be perfect! I rarely leave the house for more than a few hours, so I only take my Novo Pen and meter with me if I know I shall be out for a meal. For that I use the latest baggie that I got from Accu-Chek, a bit like a soft pencil case with Accu-Chek embossed in the side.

On the other hand, it would be worth all the hassle of getting a pump just so I could carry it around in one of @Katie‘s excellent Stripykat pump cases. Do you think she could make me a hydration pack to match for carrying the insulin? :D

@Tim I love the pump case. My pump lives au naturel with just a clip to attach it to random pieces of clothing. I shall be smuggling my diabetes junk into your house under cover of darkness because the bathroom bag I use to transport diabetes junk for overnight trips can’t compare in the glamour stakes to your pump case.

@Alison – I don’t think *anything* can compare in the glamour stakes to my wonderful pump case! :-)

In terms of other guff, the bottom drawer in my bedside cabinet contains Lucozade and Fruit Pastilles for potential night time hypos; alongside a tub of lancets for replenishing the black pencil case I use to lug about my meter, finger pricker, etc.

I’ve then got another cabinet which stores the rest of my diabetes guff – spares boxes of infusion sets, instruction manuals for the pump and meters and so on. Basically it’s a couple of drawers for all things diabetes.

In other news this post was written with a BG of 2.8 – I’m surprised it makes this much sense, but saying that, quite a bit of it had to be typed several times!

Well, I would like a window. I have changed my Avatar to a picture of my pump case, it has a hook which goes over the centre of my bra and it hangs below. It’s very comfy as I can’t feel it. I’d love a soft cotton cover in a smaller size. A window would be great as then I wouldn’t have to be continually taking the pump out to make insulin adjustments etc. Also, these ones wear out quite quickly as the soft cotton under the hook, which rubs against the bra, is not reinforced.

Thick material would be no good though as it would make you too hot under your clothes.
