“Gloom, despair, misery and despond”

If this describes 2011 for you so far then cheer yourself up by coming along to the latest soaraway Shoot Up night out on 5th February at Edinburgh’s world famous Au Bar on Shandwick Place from 7.30pm onwards. Not only will I be there, but I’ve also managed to secure an appearance by my esteemed co-writer Alison for one night only! Hurrah!

So if you’re in the neighbourhood (and even if you’re not, dagnabit!) come along and discuss our broken pancreases over a pint of wine or a sherry glass of beer. All more than welcome – diabetics, non-diabetics, partners, hangers-on, stalkers, etc.

All the gory details can be found over on Facebook at the link below, or if you’re not part of the cyber-social-networking-future you can drop me an email at tim@shootuporputup.co.uk instead.

Have to put me down for the next one I’m afraid. Fourth eye surgery on the 4th (so I’m going to be in lots of pain) then I got an all day antenatal session with the wife on the 5th (going to be tough!) πŸ™

Gah! That’s a pity Stephen, but you can always come for the next one πŸ˜€ Good luck with the eye thing and the antenatal thing!

Sorry we won’t get to meet this time Stephen although part of me does think you’re quite sensible – why am I looking forward to coming up to the bleak north in bitterly cold February? Madness!

I think you should petition to get the next one moved further south! I hadn’t even though about the fact I’d have to fly or get an 8 hour train to get there!!!

Plenty of alcohol Alison, you’ll soon warm up πŸ™‚

Good plan Stephen, the Au Bar does very nice beer so I’ll be glowing against the winter cold in no time!

Why not organise your own meet up in your neck of the woods Stephen? More than happy to advertise it here on the blog and they’re dead easy to do (well, I certainly put very little effort into organising them!)

And some matches and firelighters, maybe? πŸ™‚
Sorry I cant make Edinburgh this time. Some other time maybe…Or a Liverpool meet – I could do that one cos the husband’s from ‘de pewel’ (he spelt that for me. I hold no responsibilty for it πŸ™‚ ) so we’ve got family up there. (I’m not suggesting anything round here – even the weather avoids Coventry, it’s so boring…)
